Julie,

We don't require this in our online math course, but I had to do Excel spreadsheets showing the computations used to arrive at an answer when I was doing my MBA. Using Excel might be a good way to do this while maintaining email-able documents.

If the instructor could create Excel sheets that a student would use to arrive at an answer, that might help bring consistency in responses rather than everyone creating their own sheet.

For what it is worth.

We are going to hold our first online business math course in the fall. The instructor asked me how she would see the process by which students arrive at their answers not just the final answer. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this?

Thanks!

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone
